Mt. Kailash, the most scared mountain, situated at the height of (6714 m ) with its four sheer walls capped peak is wonderful and inspiring sight, the abode of lord Shiva and consort Parvati. This beautiful and sacred lake is an important pilgrimage for both Buddhist and Hindus as it is believed that bathing in the holy water will clean one’s sins and diseases. Geographically it is also important since four great rivers: Karnali, Brahmaputra, Indus, and Sutlej flows through Mount Kailash.
